Choosing Your Edible Material
We print on 2 different types on edible material. Wafer card and icing sheets.
Follow our simple guide to find the perfect option for you. We also share our tips on how to apply the toppers to your wonderful creations. As well as talking about our edible ink and the vibrancy results on each material, and storing your materials to ensure your toppers stay fresh and look their best.
Wafer Card
Wafer card is thicker and stronger than wafer paper 0.65mm is a perfect choice for drinks, biscuits and cakes.
These can be applied straight to buttercream, with the option of standing upright on the cake due to it's stronger material. Again, like wafer paper they can also be applied using piping gel or edible glue.
These are also a great material for drink toppers also. They can be laid directly on top of the drink or clipped with a wooden peg.
If topper is laid directly on to a beverage, it will melt into the drink as it absorbs the moisture.
Icing Sheet
Icing sheets give the clearest & defined print. They are great for cupcake toppers cakes and biscuits.
Temperature can play a key role in how your icing sheets will behave. If too cold they can become stiff and brittle and prone to cracking. If too warm, they can become soft and sticky making them prone to tears.
If they become too cold or warm, try warming them up or bringing them back to room temperature before using for best results.
Edible toppers can be used with cake coving, such as buttercream, ganache, sugar paste, royal icing and glace icing.
A great idea is to apply a thin layer of fondant icing/sugar paste, especially when using moist cake surfaces like buttercream as this can prevent the toppers absorbing any moisture from the cake.

Storage Before & after
All our toppers come in food safe sealable bags. Keep them in this until you require to use.
Once you have applied your edible images and prints to your cakes and biscuits, you may be wondering how to store them. We recommend avoiding anything airtight like tupperware, as this can cause the icing sheets to absorb moisture from your cake or biscuits and look slightly sticky.
We also don't recommend putting edible images back into the fridge once applied to your cakes and bakes, as the change in temperature of the cakes and edible toppers can cause condensation. If this is unavoidable during the hotter summer months and your cakes need refrigerating, it is best to first put them inside a cardboard cake box so the majority of condensation is absorbed by the box. When it comes to removing the cake, take it out of the box while it comes back to room temperature.
If you are wanting to individually wrap your biscuits, it can help to ensure the moisture in minimised by allowing them time to dry before bagging or wrapping.
